So I am using an artist mix/eucon for automating passes etc and its a world of diff using this compared to MCU etc
However, after writing, I turn off “write” but the automation data is coloured orange and not editable. The channel or parameter is NOT locked etc.
Any ideas?
I guess this is some special state from using such a controller from what I have heard from other users of these controllers.
Fresh automation passes written via EuCon (Avid Artist Mix, etc.) are marked orange to indicate they’re in a “virgin” or protected state
Cubase treats these passes differently from standard mouse-drawn automation. They’re essentially “captured” data from the controller, and Cubase flags them as locked until you explicitly allow editing.
it’s a EuCon-specific behavior.
You can use the Automation Panel → Functions → “Suspend” or “Convert” options to unlock the pass. Alternatively, toggle Automation Safe/Trim mode to force Cubase to treat the data as editable.

Thanks
Yes I understood that but still this track does not drop the orange, despite whatever buttons I pressed. It must have been a bug because when I rebooted, that behaviour now doesnt lock
Ah well…thanks for your reply
