Automation with delay - Bug

I believe I’ve come across a bug that occurs when automation is used on the “Mix” parameter of a Delay Effect.
Basically, the Delay includes notes unwanted notes previous to where I raise the Mix in the automation track.
Here’s what I’m trying to do. I want to add Delay (with high feedback) to just the last note in a measure. But the Delay includes a cacophony of all the notes in that measure that were played (and ENDED) prior to where the Mix level is raised in the automation track.
To fix it, I had to create a second track with a long Delay containing just that last note.
Any thoughts? Is there a better way to address this?

Not really a bug, since this is how delays are designed to behave.

It sounds like you have your Delay on the source Channel’s Insert. What you want to do is put the Delay on an FX Channel and then Automate the source Channel’s Send so only the last Note goes to the Delay.

Exactly. Or just automate the bypass of the delay on the insert so it kicks in when you want to.

Thanks for the replies! I tried these and both solutions worked really well.
