Autosaves lost

I have Dorico preferences set to autosave every 5 minutes. Dorico crashed as I was ending my work last night. This morning, there were no autosaves for the last 3 days and my file’s date is 3 days ago. I typically manually save every hour or so. I don’t know why it wasn’t saving. I lost 3 days worth of work.

If you saved the file yesterday, then it can’t possibly have been replaced by one 3 days earlier.
So either it didn’t save, or it saved somewhere else.

Do a search of the disk for Dorico files with a modification date of yesterday.

Check the Trash.

What about the Dorico Backups folder?

You should have your system backup, at least, e.g. Time Machine, if you’re on a Mac.

What was the cause of the crash? Can you provide a Diagnostic Report?

I know how my file system works and where my files are at (Windows). I checked all of that already. All my files are in OneDrive too. There are no versions of the files between 6/19 4pm and today in OneDrive. I think Dorico was not saving. The crash report is attached.

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (1.9 MB)

There are no crash files in your diagnostics, so Dorico would have deleted the auto-save files when you closed Dorico.

They are normally moved to the Trash, which is slightly different from deleted.

Is this the relevant file?

So your system backup also has no files dated yesterday?

I did not know there was a difference between the backup folder and autosave folder. Now that I know what I am looking for, I found it in my trash.

I guess Dorico didn’t crash. I wasn’t able to restore its window, so I forced it to close.

Thank you for the help.
