Hey there,
I´m on a testversion of Cubase 13 Pro because I consider to switch from ProTools…mainly because of bad SSL UC1 implementation.
I´m a controller guy and also use a Avid Dock plus S1 with ipad right now.
Since Eucon belongs to Avid obviously one might have to make some compromises when using with Cubase.
But right now I have the problem that the Eucon communication seems to be partly one directional. So, no fader is moving on my S1 when when I move faders in the Cubase Mixer. That should work, right?
Track selection, Aux, Pan works both ways. But everything is useless until I can make fader adjustements:)
Has someone experienced similar issues? Am I missing any setup, that I have to do?
All Software + Firmware is up to date.
I´m on MacOS 12.4.
You might be missing something in your setup. Post pictures of the Eucon settings in Cubase, track settings in your Cubase mixer, as well as at least the underlined tabs in Eucontrol software:
I already found your problem I think. See the image I quoted above. It’s under the “General” tab in the EuControl software settings. Deselect “Suspend All Faders”.
Right. The closest thing I’ve found for this is “Show only tracks connected to first selected” or whatever it’s called. Basically if you have a track selected then if you choose this visibility agent it ‘should’ show all tracks that are connected to it. So if you select a VCA then all controlled tracks should show, same with a Group track. Folders I don’t know, never tried. Only negative with this is that the mixer (#1) needs to be in focus for this to work. But you could maybe set that up with a macro and/or using the Project Logical Editor or something.
And once you have it set up you can of course create a softkey for it on the s1 or tablet.
For me in post the easiest has been to just set up a bunch of fader layouts and then I recall them from the tablet or s1. That way I can have a 1-click access to all my Group tracks or VCA tracks or a mix of both or whatever it is.
Aha ok!
I´ll try that with “show only tracks connected”. But yeah, since I´m used to only work in arrange window that might be problematic because of the mixer focus. There will definitely have to be some workflow changes for me:)
I also thought maybe its fine to setup all the differnet layouts…but that`s slow beause of all the tracks (also the hidden ones) you see in eucontrol. For proTools I used a SoundFlow patch to automatically assign all selected tracks to a layout. Not sure if I can do that for cubase…
