AXR4T & ASUS ProArt X670E PROBLEM

Hi all i really need help i just bought new PC Asus ProArt X670E creator wifi but my Steinberg AXR4T is not going to connect with PC can anyone please help me i’m really in bad situation.

Can you give us anything to go on here? Is it showing up in any way at all in Device Manager? Did you double-check the cable? Try a different one? Have you tried all available USB ports?

Are you starting the interface before booting the computer or the other way around?

Of course, I always turn on the AXR4T first, then the PC, and I’ve tried all the USB C ports, but in the Device Manager nothing appears from the audio card, while the Thunderbolt Drivers are fine.
While I still try it with my old computer via ASUS Thunderboltex3 it works very well

I also looked in the BIOS to make sure Thunderbolt is ON,
For the PRO ART X670E Creator Wifi model, on the ASUS website it is said that it supports Thunderbolt, but I still have a problem, there is simply no chance for the Motherboard to recognize the Audio Card

The only thing I can think of then is if your motherboards have a different BIOS and one of them (or AGESA) has code that makes it impossible to use TB2 in that TB3 connector.

I have a MOTU that can do TB2 on my older 5900x on an ASUS ProArt x570 motherboard. But in order for that to work I’m using an Apple adapter from TB2 to TB3, and I think I’ve read that later BIOS versions than the one I have might change it so it no longer works.

If I were you I would search Gearspace.com for “Ryzen”, “BIOS” and “Thunderbolt” to see if you can find something there. I think the BIOS or TB driver version is listed, and I think there is even at least one thread dedicated to TB compatibility on Windows.

Best of luck and please share the solution if you find it.

I also used an apple converter from thunderbolt 2 to 3, I needed this with my old PC, but it works very well with Thunderboltex3, but I can’t find a solution here.

I am continuing to look for a solution and I would be very happy if someone would help me and if I find a solution I will definitely inform you all what is needed.

Did you search Gearspace?

After many searches and many tests there is no chance for me to have any solution because the new generations of motherboards only support thunderbolt 3 and 4 and it is impossible for me to mount the Asus ThunderboltEX3 on the motherboard because they do not have TBHeader 5 pin that supports it ThunderboltEX3.

The best solution would be if the AXR4T had an option to change the small card back from Thunderbolt 2 to USB so if someone could inform me if this is possible I would be grateful.

And you can’t go through a dock either?

I returned the computer I bought and ordered a Apple MAC Studio. I had no other choice

Mac’s are backwards compatible to TB1. PC’s with native TB3 or 4 are not and neither are supported add on cards.

It was hoped that the AXR4 would go the way of UAD and provide swap out cards that allowed for connection protocol changes. I.e. a 15 YO Firewire UAD Apollo can be ‘user’ fitted with a TB3 card for successful operation on a compatible Mac or PC as they continue to provide software and driver support for 4 generations of the interface.

I already bought the MAC Studio M2 MAX and everything works perfectly, I think it’s not fair that a soundcart like the AXR4T doesn’t have better support because it really has a fantastic sound besides the Advanced FX Suite hasn’t moved to Steinberg yet Activation Manager and I definitely need to use eLicenser. I hope some things like this get fixed soon.
