Backward and forward fingering extensions for cello

Cello fingering often call for notations such as x1 and x2, known as backward extension and forward extension, respectively. The shift-F fingering popover prunes the x letter away :frowning:

I’ve thought all along that this was how most people annotated cello music. I don’t remember who taught me that. But a quick search online shows that this is not as popular as I thought. For what it is worth, please see attached screenshot for an example. Personally I’d been marking these as “x1” without a space between x and 1 in Sibelius as text input. I can continue to do that in Dorico as text. But I thought it worthwhile mentioning this need here, in case the team decides to support it.

Thanks for this, Fred. I will make a note of it for possible future implementation.

Thanks!!
