My project contains 20 bars, but I only want the piece to end at bar 15. I deleted bars 16–20 from the Full Score and placed a Fine at bar 15, but Dorico keeps inserting an extra bar at the end. How can I prevent this?
This is likely because there is “something” invisible in the bar, like a dynamic or a playing technique from the previous bars going too far. It’s hard to guess without seeing the file.
The Fine directive does not chop bars, FWIW.
Select the extra bar and press SHIFTB-1
Thanks.
Do I need to remove the overrides from other pages?
I’m working on a part right now—if there’s something attached to another instrument, will it affect this one too?
Try to have a look in galley view, with all the instruments. Select all the dynamics, then the playing techniques, then the lines if any… Don’t you see an extension going to bar 16 at some point?
Also: how do you try to delete the bar? Shift+B trim, or -1, as @Vadian is suggesting? System Track?
Please try to make a cutdown version of your project and to post it here if these suggestions don’t help.
No.
I want it to end on a double vertical line.
Yes. That part.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand. What’s the purpose of the Key Signature if you want to delete it?
Please draw what you’re trying to achieve!
When I deleted the key signature, the bar was deleted.
