I’ve noticed in all my scores that bar numbers do not avoid collisions with clefs when octave shift is active. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I really only care about it on treble clef with 8 below, but I did try a normal treble clef with octave shift on it behaves the same way.

this should not be happening with the factory settings.
Which font are you using for Bar Numbers?
Can you check what are your Layout Options (for that Layout)?:
I’m using Helvetica for Bar Numbers. I keep my bar numbers on the rest of the system closer to the staff (1 space). The default settings place it at a safe distance away (2 spaces). My custom spacing and collision avoidance works perfectly fine when octave shift is not selected. Picture attached showing octave shift turned off.
