I have a piece with a narrator instrument reading some text. As orientation I display some key text parts in the score, like the first words of the paragraph read by the narrator… Altough its only some words, the orientation text is sometimes too long and overlaps into the following bar.
Is it possible to change the width of an individual bar, so that the text of this bar fits into it? I want to do this in the galley view / write mode in order to get a better overview.
Hi @Martin3 , you can set in bar 7 a Note Spacing Change (from Engrave mode’s Engrave menu) changing/increasing the Default space for crotchet/quarter note value, and then set another NSP with Reset in bar 9.
But this will only take effect in Page view. Is a very useful feature in many cases.
A method that works also in Galley view, is to temporarily increase the global Note Spacing Default space for crotchet/quarter note value in layout options/Note Spacing.
