Hi,
I’ve been testing MixKey with a few different setups a while ago and really like how straightforward it is.
One small idea that came to mind: basic MIDI Learn support.
Nothing complex — just simple assignments like:
· Channel volume
· Mute
· Panic
· Output level
Something like right-click → “Learn MIDI” → move controller → done.
I think even a minimal implementation like that could make MixKey feel more hands-on without changing its simplicity.
Just an idea.

Hey DK!
Thanks for your post. So you want to use your midi-controller to control MixKey? Or am I understanding this wrong?
Sounds interesting. Is this a new idea or is that something you already saw at another software?

Hey Alex,
Thanks for the reply!
Yes, the idea would be to use a MIDI controller to control basic MixKey functions… simply hands-on control.
To answer your other question: I’m not aware of any software like MixKey that offers native MIDI control to manage multiple audio sources in one place. In tools like OBS you can work with hotkeys or third-party software to program certain MIDI actions (I’m not an expert), but I don’t think that’s very user-friendly.
The idea mainly came from a workflow point of view. I think this could make things easier for podcasters, DJ streamers, or game streamers.
Just a thought.
