Hello! I can’t figure out how to set this in options: how to beam the 8th notes automatically two and two together. I want it to look like the second example but Dorico seems stuck in the first one. Stefan
Thanks, but I’ve tried that one…
Stefan
I guess it’s a combo of my other settings.
You can use the Library Manager to compare with this:
Jesper
beaming.dorico (525.2 KB)
I think you need this also:
You’re using 2/2. The only way I’ve found is to enter a 4/4 measure in the second bar and then hide it using the Properties panel. Then, go to Notation Options > Beam Grouping and select Break Beams at Beat Boundaries under the Quarter Note Denominator Time Signatures.
Then you can manually break the beams at the first bar.
Fantastic. So many gems to discover.
Thanks! I didn’t see it!
Yes, the “Use common time note grouping” box is likely what I need to find, which I can’t… I’m using Dorico 4 pro. I only see the first two choices.
I’m not sure when this option became available. Perhaps you should upgrade?
Yes, sure, I will do that. So many thanks for your help, now I know my options and I’ll change the beaming manually when using this time signature, until I upgrade eventually.
