Beaming in 4ths

How do I get Dorico to cut the beams in 4ths? (At X)

If I enter [1+1+1+1]/4 nothing happens.
If I enter [2+2]/4 I get

which is logical.
Why does it not split in 4th when entering [1+1+1+1]/4?
I can cut the beams manually, but it is a long piece and I would prefer Dorico to do it.

Dorico_Split-4.dorico (556.0 KB)

TIA.

Try it with these two settings in Notation Options > Beam Grouping.

When I tested this, I used a plain 4/4 time signature.

Thanks! I missed the fact that Dorico divides the settings in those bars that have half-bar and not. A bit confusing for me.

I wish The Team introduced the Amadeus ba-command. So much smarter than existing settings. “ba4” - done, and it can be set on individual staves too. There is no crime in adapting good ideas from other programs IMO. I would make beaming so much easier in Dorico and remove many other settings.

If [2+2]/4 works, then [1+1+1+1]/4 should work as well. I don’t see the logic in the current design.
