I am relatively new to Dorico. I have been composing a series of songs that have 2 versions for each “song.” Thus far, I have used 2 separate files for the 2 versions, but when I was watching an instructional video, I started to think that for organizational purposes it might be possible to use one file, but separate layouts for the different versions. (The chord progressions are the same, the measure count is the same, just changes in lyrics/text, melody, and accompaniment.)
For a basic test, I started with 2 vocal lines (vocal 1 and vocal 2) and 2 piano parts (piano 1 &2) . Then, I was able to make 2 PGV scores with Vocal 1 (with guitar chords and lyrics) and Piano 1. (and the same for Versions 2).
I then made Leadsheet layouts for both, Vocal 1 with Chord symbols and diagrams at the start. But for Vocal 2 with chords, it just says (TACET). I have checked and triple checked that I have the Vocal 2 selected, and have looked at the engrave tab. I have compared the fine settings to see if I had inadvertently clicked on something. I have duplicated the Vocal 1 Leadsheet, and tried to change to Vocal 2, but it just says TACET again.
I have tried to create a new voice player, and duplicating the voice. It seems no matter what it shows TACET.
I would think it would be possible, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
