Hello,
I recently published a score with Durand–Universal Music in France. While examining their pristine house style, I noticed they use braces to indicate divisi. In contrast, Dorico’s default output “1 2” often confuses most conductors and musicians I’ve worked with, so I’ve adopted this brace-based method for indicating divisi.
While this may not be the only correct approach, it’s clear to me that Dorico’s default is neither accurate nor intuitive for most performers. Is there a way Dorico could automatically label divisi changes in this style—perhaps through a option with customizable braces and a user definable text – and perhaps with a different appearance on the parts?
I believe both publishers and composers would truly appreciate such a feature.
Best regards,
Arnau
