Maybe you installed the vst2 version and never updated it. Check in the plug-in manager which version it is.
Unfortunately you aren’t able to ask anything in the forum of Positive Greed, because they haven’t invested in it since years. Greedy company. I stoped to use their plugins after being lied of some app features and never getting an answer, just promises.
But, to be fair, if I recall well, Bias had a VST3 version. Not 100% sure though.
Unfortunately, Bias Amp 2 does not support VST3 according to the specifics.
In C14 you have to explicetly allow VST2s to be run at all in the VST-Plugin-Manager. Not sure about C13 - did you do a rescan?
OMG, you are right. Amp2 doesn’t have a vst3 version yet. They are for sure putting the money in their hardware toy products, simply letting the old plugins as they are. FX2 has a vst3 version, though.
Hi,
VST2 is still supported in C13 although the transition to VST3 is already in motion since 2022.
BIAS Amp’s latest VST2 appears to be from 2018. I think that this might cause the problem. Have you checked the blacklist in your Plugin Manager?
The AU format is not relevant for Cubase, by the way.
You could also try to put the VST2 file here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2
However, that is just a last attempt because usually a rescan should do:
Yeah, I know - I tend to forget that Macs are always special… I already accknowledged that in the previous post reacting to Grims answer.
Nevertheless, thanks for the reminder. Might not be the last time I need a little nudge
Edit: We still don’t know IF the OP is on a Mac, though.
Not sure. The OP wrote that he had installed both VST & AU. Does /library/audio-plugins reveal that the OP is on a Mac? Mac-land is not exactly my home turf…
Cheers!
Yeah AU (Audio Unit) belongs to the Mac realm although you can install all sorts of extensions no matter what OS you are on. They will not do anything apart from resting where they are, though.
What I did not know is that the path
is a Mac only thing. I assumed that this was the internal directory of the plugin itself. Thanks for clearing that up!
I’m not a mac user but you can search how to start cubase in rosetta mode.
No other software required but be aware of what you are doing. (running within an emulated mode so possibly losing some advantage of the more modern processors)
You can alt-click on the Cubase 13 app and in the “Get Info” section there is an option to toggle Rosetta mode. Had to do this for a while until certain plugins were updated to VST3.
I have the first one (metaplugin), although I still haven’t used it for making a bridge, but until I know, it should work. I understand there are free options too.
