Black Friday sale for Cubase?

So, last year I missed a spring or summer sale on Cubase by a day or two, and it wasn’t offered during Black Friday so I ended up switching to Logic for the past year.

I was still planning to pick up Cubase this year, but somehow missed the relevant announcement that again there was a summer sale. I came here to check if there are any plans for a Cubase sale this Black Friday.

I’m a Dorico Pro user and I’m pretty disappointed that I missed out on the 70% off sale this summer. Honestly, I’m used to all the audio software having the big annual sale at Black Friday. So I’ll look again this year to see if a discount appears, otherwise maybe I’ll just forget about Cubase and stick with Logic.

Adding to this, I checked my email and verified I’ve been subscribed to the Steinberg newsletter, since I was waiting for the sale this year. Guess why I missed it? Because the marketing people made the email title “Celebrate Creativity and 40 Years of Steinberg”. I don’t really care that it was Steinberg’s 40th birthday, so I didn’t click on the email and never found out about the sale.

Hello everyone,

I can relate to the frustration of missing out on Cubase sales. Like others here, I’m facing additional pressure this year due to Steinberg’s upcoming switch from the eLicenser to a new licensing system. While I value Cubase and have invested in updates over the years, this change essentially forces all Cubase users with a version below 13 to switch to the new licensing system before eLicenser support ends.

If we don’t make the switch in time, we’ll lose the chance to access the regular discounted upgrade prices in the future. After that deadline, any future upgrade would require purchasing a full license, which is much higher. Given that many audio software brands offer major Black Friday discounts, it would be fantastic if Steinberg could include Cubase this year. This would really help those of us who rely on Cubase daily and want to avoid the higher costs of switching later.

I hope Steinberg considers this—a Black Friday promotion would show great support for its long-term user base. Looking forward to any updates on this!

Thanks!
