I’m a very long-time Cubase user who currently owns Cubase 13 and couldn’t upgrade to 14 because of money-issues that I solved recently… Been wondering if there are any Black Friday discounts regarding upgrading to Cubase 15.
I wouldn’t think so as it’s just been released and I haven’t seen them do this before. If money is a concern then hang on until the mid term sale. Make sure you subscribe to emails so you know when sales are on. Or visit here regularly as announcements are made here too.
In the summer sale, you can usually upgrades for roughly half the price. If you are then patient enough, you wait until the next major version is released the following November and only then register your “Download Access code”. You should automatically get upgraded to the new version thanks to the grace period. (No guarantees there, but so far it has always worked for me).
Yes upgrade sale does happen. I stopped being an early adopter a few years ago and always go for the upgrade when on sale. Most of the big bugs are also fixed by then.
Buy the upgrade to Cubase 15 during summer sale. (in the past they gave a 40% discount). But DO NOT use the download access code until Cubase 16 is available. If you wait for Cubase 16 (probably end of 2026) you can use the download access code for CB16 …
Summer is an estimate as they have different sales through the year. It may be earlier or a little later. That’s why you have to stay informed either by subscribing to emails (steinberg do not inundate you with emails like others do) or regularly visiting the forum as they get announced here as well.
I have bought the Wavelab and Spectralayers update while on offer and have not used my code. I’m waiting for the next version. I do that with these as do not get used as much as Cubase. I will get Cubase 15 when the sale is on, whenever it is.
