Blank Space between Bars on the same staff

Hi,
I would like to create 3 bars on a single system, with each bar separated by a blank space — just like in the example (which I made in Word).
I’ve searched quite a bit but haven’t found a satisfactory solution so far. I used to do this easily in Sibelius, but Dorico still holds some mysteries for me in this area.

I’d really appreciate any help in figuring out how to achieve this cleanly and efficiently — both for myself and others who might face the same need.

P.S.: I should mention that I need to create this kind of layout many times throughout the score, as it’s part of an exercise worksheet. So if there’s a way to make this process repeatable and streamlined, that would be even more appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Maybe you can try looking at the cutaway score feature in Dorico 6?

thank you but I’m still in Dorico 5 and can’t upgrade for the moment.

You can do this by creating Codas that you can then hide:

The steps:

  1. At the position where you want to create the blank space, type Shift+R, type coda, hit enter.
  2. To hide the Coda marking, select it and choose Hide in the Properties panel.

If you also want to hide the clef (like in bar 3 of my screenshot), select the bar, invoke the clef popover with Shift+C, type invisible and hit enter.

You can change the size of the gap by going to Engraving Options>Repeat Markers>Repeat Sections and change the value for Default gap before mid-system Coda section.

That’s absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much Zalde!!! It’s very helpful!
I just wished it was a more simple and logical than that. On this regard, Sibelius was better. But Thanks Again!
