Blocklist plugins | ilok

Hello, ran into an issue and solved it, and am posting my workaround to help out future problem havers!

Bought new PC. Upgraded Cubase. Tried to transfer over all of my plugins. This was a bit of a PITA as some plugins activated through iLOK had issues. No, they were not my issues.

2 companies - Sound Toys bundle plugins and Steven Slate Drum Triggers 2 were blocklisted.

This was the exact issue:
Sound Toys and SSDT2 I downloaded, activated through iLOK, open Cubase, and during the scan I got an error that those plugins were blocklisted. Clicked on Studio → VST Plug-in Manager → Blocklist and saw both plugins were on the Blocklist Tab. Bost VST 2 and VST 3 were on the list. When I clicked on the link. Plug-in information is as follows:

This plug-in has been moved to the blocklist.
Reactivate.

Clicking Reactivate crashed and crashes Cubase.

I tried deleting Cubase, and the plugins. Installing the plugins first, and then Cubase. I tried all different ways of deleting and installing programs. Nothing worked. I found a thread on Reddit that said iLOK was the problem, and since it was two different companies that was affecting the process, I concurred.

Their solution was to buy an iLOK dongle.

I purchased the iLOK dongle, and activated both companies plugins on the dongle. Opened Cubase. And it worked.

Yes, you’ll have to buy a dongle. I got one on Amazon for 60 bucks.
