Hello,
I have a problem with using my NMSVE bluetooth midi controller. When I try to record Midi, the notes hang. They stick to one place. I‘ve read about this problem here, but none of the solutions worked for me.
What I‘ve tried:
Changing Midi thru (On/Off)
Changing Midi recording mode from „new part“ to „replace“
Does anybody know anything about this problem?
Thanks for your help!
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Do you have the latest driver installed? Are you on Mac or Windows? What does the MIDI Monitor in Cubase shows?
Hey,
yes, the drivers are up to date.
I’m using:
Mac M1 Max
Ventura
When the problems occurs the midi notes stay at one spot. Like the signal gets no stop command.
Hi,
Some MIDI devices handle the timestamp incorrectly. Then this could happen. You would see a red message in the MIDI Monitor. Is this the case?
Hey Martin,
thanks for your help! No, there is no red message in the Midi Monitor. The notes just stick. I would like to attach a video, but apparently there is no way.
Hi,
Could you please attach a screenshot from the MIDI Monitor?
I found a solution that works!
To solve this recording issue:
-
Open Audio-Midi Setup application.
-
In the application menu, choose Window > Show MIDI Studio.
-
In the toolbar of the MIDI Studio window, click the Configure Bluetooth button.
-
Select your Bluetooth MIDI keyboard in the list of devices. After it, click Connect (see more).
-
In the Apple App Store, download and install MidiView utility.
-
Run the MidiView.
-
In the main menu of the MidiView, turn off ENABLE button (by your option, to reduce computing load).
-
Then, in the device list at top of the main window of the utility, select your Bluetooth MIDI keyboard.
-
Run Cubase.
-
Assign instrument to a MIDI track.
-
In the MIDI track settings, select input MIDI port “MidiView”.
-
Start record and play on the connected Bluetooth keyboard.
Works just fine!
