Hi stringray, it doesn’t always null.
Try a different panning law setting for example. At 0dB for instance you “gain gain” (sorry about the pun, LOL).
You pointed that out correctly, so, just to clarify, there is not change of sample rate or bit depth on test I did above.
Thanks Lukas, not worries, just trying to determine the best way to bounce.
Just to clarify my self: Im not having fun trying to mix for bats. Lol.
In my workflow I have to do a lot of bouces, and Im trying to avoid any change of gain because that, if done many times, it seems to deteriorate the sound quality, which I can tell in soft passages.
Not trying to support any theory here, just solving a problem that I’ve noticed.
Y’know, we need to continue that campaign for better export options!! For example, export pre-fader, pre-pan, or pick a position in the effects chain etc. It makes sense and would sort out all these problems with export levels.
There’s many times when I want to render the first FX slot (e.g. Melodyne and/or autotune) but not the others, and I’d rather not have to write down my fader/pan settings just so I can zero everything for an export.
Mike.
This is exactly what I’m looking for.
This way of exporting is far better than the freeze function to :
1- reduce CPU overhead
2- Have a backup of the work in progress
3- Export tracks from composing to mixing
4- transfer tracks to another sound engineer
5- …
