so if I record something into cubase. and then maybe I cut it up and normalize it, and I want to export and reimport (because otherwise you can’t drag into groove agent one for some reason)
do I dither or not here? it’s 24bit wav to 24bit wav right? but if I normalized does that affect it?
I would’nt dither anything until the very last step in the mastering process, when changing the bit rate to 16bits.
Normalizing only affects the volume level as I understand it.

Best not to normalize either, really.
It usually only affects the peak level not the apparent level, and adds a layer of DSP noise that you can do without.
