How does one bring up the big stereo panner windows from a mixer channel without double clicking on the pan section and thereby changing the current panning?
For the life of me can’t figure out how to get that window up without changing anything!

Surely one of you knows the secret…
Not a direct answer to your question however it’s not an issue for me in my workflow as I have “File -> Preferences -> Editing -> Controls -> Slider Mode” set to relative instead of jump. Why relative is not the default is beyond me.
That’s a great answer! Didn’t know about that mode, but that works perfectly for double-clicking in those panners, and as you say, it makes way more sense for changing them in the first.
Yes, if this had been the default, I would yet have more hair!!!
