Long time Finale user here, enjoying the challenge of learning Dorico. My current dilemma: is there no brush drum kit available in the program? In Finale it was very easy to choose a kit played with sticks or a kit played with brushes. I do theatre style charts and brushes are frequently called for. It’s only a problem for playback, but if I want to give a client an MP3 of the arrangement it would be awkward to not have the brush sounds played.
You could try manually loading the SR Brushez Kit in place of the standard [GM 129] Stereo GM Kit patch in HALion Sonic. It doesn’t contain the full selection of sounds, but the basic kit sounds of kick, snare, toms, hi-hats etc. are present, and are mapped correctly per the General MIDI percussion map.
