At some point in the last several weeks, my left-hand thumb (t) fingering indication has changed from a “t” to a strange character (see attached picture). This happens when I open old projects that were fine, as well as new projects. I am using the default font for the “Fingering Font” (“Bravura”). Any ideas?
Hmmm… that’s interesting! But not very helpful for a guitarist (ha ha!).
Maybe there’s a bug (I’m running the latest Dorico 5 Pro Version 5.1.10.2081, on Windows 11) that is co-mingling Cello and Guitar? I know it used to work at some point in the recent past!
I also installed the “Metrico” font several weeks ago (to get a “swing” legend). Maybe that’s causing problems?
One more data point: I found a printout from January 9, 2024, which has the correct “T” for the thumb… so it seems that the 5.1.10 update on January 18 has the problem.
One of brothers recently had open-heart surgery (he’s doing well). I want to print out about ten transcriptions of solo guitar songs I’ve done in the past two years, and put them in a three-ring binder to send to him. He helped me learn some of these songs about fifty years ago, when I was just learning guitar.
I’m sure he’ll enjoy playing from the professional-looking Dorico printouts! By the way, I learned yesterday how to set the margins for left and right sides, so the holes don’t occlude the staffs! Wonderful!
