BUG: Crash when using search function in "Import Audio" window

Every time I open the Import Audio dialog window and use the little search bar at the top right, Cubase crashes.

This has been a thing in Cubase 11 and still is now, in 12.0.30
Please fix this, Steinberg.

Hi,

Could you attach the *.crash/dmp file, please?

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

At least the system information would be helpful…

Cubase 12.0.30.286 64bit 2022.6.20 14.35.32.987.dmp (1.6 MB)
Cubase12 Crash - Audio Import Search

I’m attaching the dmp file here, as well as the error message I get after using the search function, selecting a file, and trying to import it (just tested this in newly created, blank sequence).

System info:
Win10 Pro 64bit, i9-10980XE, 128GB RAM, GTX 1650 GPU.
Cubase 12.0.30

Hi,

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

Please try this:

  • Download the latest Studio driver version from here. If there is no Studio driver for your graphic card, use the one, which is available and continue with the same steps bellow.
  • Disconnect the computer from Internet to make sure Windows will not download and install own graphic driver.
  • Uninstall the NVIDIA driver.
  • Restart computer.
  • Start the NVIDIA driver installation (as administrator).
  • Don’t install the whole package, use the Custom (Advanced) settings.
  • Disable everything (don’t install NVIDIA Experience, PhysX, etc.), keep just the video driver enabled.
  • Connect your computer to the internet.

Just tried this. Unfortunately still getting the same error.
