Bug in Expression Map Group Functionality in Cubase 15

When using multiple groups in the Expression Map editor, creating new articulations with the Pencil Tool does not work correctly if the groups are collapsed.

This bug occurs when multiple groups are present and all groups are in a collapsed state.

Please see the image below.

In the articulation setup shown in the image, suppose I click at position “1” with the Pencil Tool in order to create a new articulation event.

Instead of being created on the lane of Group 1 (the upper group), the articulation is incorrectly created at position “2” on Group 2 (the lower group).

Once this happens, it becomes impossible to create new articulation events in Group 1 unless the group is expanded again.

Fortunately, there is a workaround for this issue.

If the Sound Slot Lane is hidden, the problem disappears.

By clicking the icon marked “3” and hiding the Sound Slot Lane displayed at the top of the lane area, articulation events can once again be created correctly at the intended positions within any group.

However, it is unfortunate to lose the benefits of the Sound Slot Lane functionality, so I hope Steinberg will address this bug in a future update.
