Bugs in the speedy entry mode

Dear development team! I noticed bugs in the new speedy entry mode with the shadow notes, which mainly affect the chord input and the chord mode. The fact that you have to go briefly to the right and then back again to place notes over a note has already been mentioned in the video. In addition, I have noticed that after entering the number, the shadow note does not stay where it is, but has to be fetched from somewhere for the next entry. In addition, when you are in chord mode, notes are often, but not always, suddenly marked with a cross, even though there is none to be seen for miles around. This happens above all in the bass clef and when cross keys are marked. It does not happen in C major. Can you fix this with the next update? Thank you very much!

Dear Dorico team, I was very happy about the new update this morning and for sure many bugs are fixed that I hadn’t even noticed, but the bad bugs in the speedy entry mode are still not ok. When a cross key signature is selected and the chord mode is switched on, additional crosses are inserted that don’t belong there. Also, the cursor does not move after entering an additional note. You have to go to the right again and then up and to the left, with the cursor jumping nonsensically up or down. This all slows you down and makes fast input in chord mode extremely difficult. All this happens only in the chord mode. Please fix this as quickly as possible! Thank you and all best, Stefan

If you are referring to the thread you started 2 days ago: That’s not how development of such a big (or, in fact, any) application works, timeline-wise

Yes, I understand that completely. But two days ago I didn’t expect the update of today. Today I wrote it for the next update! Thanks and have a good day!

Please don’t open new topics on the same subject, particularly in such short order after first reporting something. It’s considered very poor etiquette on this forum. Even if you think something is very important, please be patient and don’t bump existing threads, or post the same material in mutiple threads. Thanks for your consideration.

You should apply a fee to every post, so the bug fixing is easily funded and hastened. There are plenty.

Haha! I should do that! May be, I become a rich man!

Stefano, I’m struggling to understand the problems you are reporting in your original post, I’m sorry to say. Would you be able to provide a few more details? It would really help me to understand what you are reporting if you could write a step-by-step procedure for me to follow, describing which keys to press, and specifying the point at which what Dorico does diverges from what you expect it to do.

Hi Dspreadbury! Absolutely I will try to do that! I’m travelling in the moment. But in a few days I shall write you step by step what is happening and what I suppose what should happen. Okay? Greetings from Stefan (Germany) Sorry for my deficient English!

That would be fine, of course. Please feel free to write in German and then use machine translation (like DeepL or Google Translate) to translate into English – and if you do, please likewise feel free to post your original German text as well. I have a little German these days (I started learning during the pandemic) but of course I have many native German speaking colleagues who can help if anything is unclear.
