Button indicating a frozen track has disappeared from the mixconsole

In Nuendo 13, the button indicating a frozen track has disappeared from the mixconsole. Is it the same in Cubase 13?

I don’t remember having seen a Freeze button in the MixConcole, but I could be wrong, as I almost never use the Freeze track feature : I prefer the Render In Place one.

This said, what’s happening here is that the Record and Monitor buttons are greyed out, as well as the Edit instrument one when a track is frozen :

I use the track freeze because it’s far from final and I need to save DSP.

I understand the graying, it’s also on the frozen inserts, but that’s how it is on the tracks in the editor, and yet we have the clear button. In my opinion, the gray is really not enough. I hope it’s a bug, and not a graphic decision (there were a lot of bad ones for version 13)…

OK, after having launched C12.0.70, I see what you mean, now. Indeed, with this version, there is a freeze indicator (I wouldn’t call it a button, as you can’t unfreeze the involved track with it) in the MixConsole, which no longer appears in 13.0.30, even when widening the track strips :

So, I hope you don’t mind, but I have tagged your thread accordingly, as it’s both an issue to be reported and a feature request to bring back a previously existing feature.

EDIT : the main problem is that, in C13, room has been made for the track type indicator, which I find very useful : actually, I was hoping for its return since several years. So, as there can’t be enough place for everything, a choice had to be made and I’m not against the one done, honestly.

This said, maybe the Freeze indicator could be added again somewhere else in the track strip…

That’s exactly what it is. Not a button, as you wisely say, but an indication. But I think there’s room to keep it. In some workflows, it’s crucial. I’m very surprised by this removal, if it’s intended.
