Buying CB Pro 14 upgrade license from 12 during sale

I read here that I can currently buy a CB Pro 14 upgrade from CB Pro 12 in the sale for 40% discount.

However, CB Pro 15 is likely to be out in a few weeks based on the previous release schedule of major new versions.

Can I buy the CB Pro 14 licence now, taking advantage of the current sale, but not activate it on CB Pro 14 and keep it for CB Pro 15 which will likely release in a few weeks time?

Obviously I know I can buy the upgrade licence at 40% discount. What I’m not sure about is how the activation manager works with the online licensing these days. I’m concerned that the licence may just get automagically grabbed by the existing CB Pro 14 Trial which is already installed on my system, leaving me having to pay again in only a few weeks for a CB Pro 15 upgrade.

Can anyone explain how this works in practice with the activation manager?

Regards,

John

Hi,

Short answer: yes, you can. You can find more details here.

TL;DR
Hand over your cash but DO NOT use the download access code until 15 is released (in second week of December, by past experience).

Thanks everyone! :+1:

OK I’ve bought the Pro 14 licence in the sale.

I assume I’m safe to continue to use the Pro 14 demo until that expires in November without it stealing the new licence…?

Hi,

Yes, you can continue to use your Cubase Pro 14 Trial.

Cheers! :+1:
