Buying update today. What if there's a sale that starts in a few days

Hi! This probably won’t change the fact that I will buy the update today from 13 pro. But my question is… What if I buy it today and then (as it happened on march 27th last year) there’s a big sale starting this week? Did I just lose the extra money spent? Partial refunds possible? Voucher for future updates? No big deal, just curious :slight_smile:

I’m afraid once you have bought the update it’s a done deal. Doesn’t matter if it’s just days or even a couple of minutes before they come up with a new offer. Usually, Steinberg is offering a summer discount in between two versions. Around end of May, June, if I’m not mistaken.
Noone knows for sure, they are really good at playing their cards close to their chest.

Yeah…it was assumed there would be a sale before end of elicenser but they have worked out how upgrades can still work after end of elicenser now so that doesn’t need to happen…so as Reco says, summer is more likely, though I think his dates may be a couple months earlier than the last few years of summer sales that have happened in July and August…sometimes running into September.

Hi,

I would say it’s the same for every company. Everyone can decide when any sale starts. I don’t know any company, which would extend it individually if a customer buys a product before the sale.

That would indeed be difficult to draw a second line after drawing the first line with the start of a new sale.

@Grim You are right about the “halftime” offers - they are indeed later over the course of the year than I had in mind. Guess I took my mental image of halftime too literally.

And as of today we know - this year it’s April 1st. We were both wrong with our guesses… As we said - noone knows for sure apart from Steinberg and they know how to keep it a secret.
@Krubbadoo I hope you haven’t bought your update yet. …nine days too early :woozy_face:

I thought because of the e-licencer server switch off next month, this sale would be bigger (50% off) to tempt to move all those who are still on v11 and earlier onto the new licensing platform. Few comments in the last few months complaining that they missed out on the previous sale, if you are one of those reading this, take advantage of the sale now, 30% off is still better than nothing!

We just don’t know what’s coming. Maybe there will be a huge discount on other products next month - maybe not…

It’s a classic Forrest Gump on the park bench situation :candy:.
