C13 Pro crashes every time I close it?

Every time i’ve opened up Cubase the last few days, I’m met with a message on the startup window that the application had crashed. I haven’t seen a crash message from OS, which is weird.
Until today. Can anyone decipher this?

Coincidentally, a thread has started up on the Reddit forum with some users reporting that Cubase (in various versions) ALWAYS crashes when they shut down, and that they often have to force quit. This can’t be right?

Hi,

macOS 11 is not supported with Cubase 13. This might be the reason of the crash.

Could you please attach the *.ips file?

sure - where do I find it/how do I generate it?

btw the crashes reported in the reddit thread are mostly with older versions of Cubase. in fact, many report that crashes have improved since C13.

Hi,

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

But as I mentioned, Cubase 13 is not compatible with macOS 11, so no one in Steinberg would take time on your crash, if the crash happnes in Cubase.

Is this what you’re after?

Hi,

Yes, this is the file.

The crash is in Cubase. But as you are using unsupported system, I cannot help more, sorry.

You can try to rename/delete Cubase preferences folder.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64

Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 13).

You can also try to reinstall Cubase.
