C13 Track delay + mouse : less precision

Hello !

Don’t know if it’s an issue or an unwanted (or absurd) modification of a feature :

For the track delay value, click+drag / mouse wheel are less precise (0.1 ms instead of 0.01 ms) than in previous Cubase versions. It’s inadequate and insuffisicient, especially when looking to solve a phase issue between microphones…

Cubase 12 track delay(1)
Cubase 13 track delay(1)

Just a question: Can you alter by 0.01ms if you hold down the Shift key while moving the mouse?

Nope…

Can you still set value(s) manually (via double-click) and do these stick after you press Enter.? I know its not the point and not what you want.

Hi,

Of course, you can.

Yes, that’s the way I use it for now, with a kind of dichotomy approach…
It was so much easier before Pro 13 :frowning:

Still there in 13.0.41 :frowning:
(just a hotfix… I know, I know)

Still there in 13.0.50 :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones:

Still there in 14.0.5 :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones:

Still there in 14.0.10

Extrememly frustrating that two years later they still havn’t done anything about it!
Now in Cubase 14 not only is this an issue, you can’t even adjust via the keyboard anymore (only the mouse). Absurd!!

No, I’ve tried literally eveything I can think of to adjust by 0.01ms. Really impacts on my workflow when trying to precicely align two tracks until they phase with each other. I spend forever typing in numeric values :rage:

Still there in 14.0.20… :scream:

Hi,

Since this is an English-language forum, we would appreciate it if you could please add an English translation to your posts to benefit users and search engine results.

DeepL or Google Translate do a great job and only takes a few seconds

Thank you!

Translation of the original message:

I’m speaking French because obviously no one at Steinberg cares about this post, which has been reposted regularly for two years now:

I obviously bought v15 because I’ve been addicted to Cubase since 2001 and I can’t just abandon this software overnight with the thousands of client projects I’ve accumulated over 24 years. Despite everything, the folks at Steinberg are incredible: they give you updates, add bugs, don’t fix them, and continue to release new versions on top of new versions in a headlong rush. Of course, they fix “critical” issues quickly when enough of us complain. But why on earth don’t they fix the bugs they ADD from version to version just as quickly? They’re breaking the workflow and the patience of their most loyal users by doing this.

A bug that seems to require an ULTRA-SIMPLE fix (the example here: reverting to a step size of 0.01 instead of 0.1) has been ignored for two versions and two years!

I don’t even recommend Cubase to my students anymore because it has become such a complicated mess that aims to target newbies as much as pros. No, but I laughed when I saw the little Hub tutorial displaying “Click on ‘create an empty project’ to create an empty project.” Seriously…
