OooooHH @Tim_Chandler this is amazing!!! It works!!! I’m crying atm!!! (literally) Without a doubt, the CS12 is the best purchase I’ve made in a long time! And the support is spectacular (maybe Steinberg should take some examples)
Is there a way to toggle sends on/off with cs12?
Press the SENDS button (to activate the mode), then press SHIFT + TURN THE KNOB OF THE SEND YOU WANT TO DEACTIVATE. To activate it, do the same.
oh really? I forgot that one. I just finished a mix monday night, first time using the CS12 and was wondering how to activate sends and ended doing it with the mouse.
Yes, I could have taken the manual, but didn’t want to lose focus in the mix…
I just saw that there’s been an update for Nectarine for a few days now. I don’t know what’s new, though.
I still have intermittent failures of the surface not “coming alive” after loading more complicated sessions. Only workaround: load a smaller session, activate it there, change back to the big session and pray. There is no other way (switching off and on, restarting Control core, disconnecting USB all do not work) the device never goes into the “starting cubase” mode and just sits there displaying the title screen with the three color srtipes and the connected and power symbols top right lit up..
Sometimes I can try to load the script manually, but often it doesn’t work. However if the thing is already shown in MIDI controller I can use the Reload scripts button. What I do not understand is that I usually see 2 (!) instances of the controller. this might be part of the problem. in MIDI Remote Manager the second instance shows as “Disconnected” but cannot be removed.
when there is nothing there I have to search for Vendor / model manually and then only select the MIDI input port “MIDIIN2 (Panorama CS12)” to connect.
I wish there was a hardware button to tell it to boot.
I suggest working with Nektar support to identify what’s happening here. They will likely want to test with a project that consistently demonstrates the problem.
If the problem is not consistent, I’d try a different USB cable and USB port if you have one available. Many of the issues reported, particularly from Cubase customers tend to be connection issues these days.
There is a new version dated 19 December 2025: Bug fixes for Cubase.
Does anyone have any idea what these bug fixes are?
The Vsti control is still pending. It was supposed to be ready by the end of the year.
I’d also be interested to know what was fixed and what’s happening with the VSTi integration, @Tim_Chandler?
Indeed, using the quick controls is a bit too limiting.
Looks like the main change was Reaper integration? Not sure about Cubase fixes, but there are still various display bugs switching between standard changes and Nektarine based ones.
I installed the update. Previously, if I used another program and then didn’t use Cubase for, say, 30 minutes, CS12 would stop working. The bug seems to be fixed now, as far as I can tell.
Or it’s due to Cubase 15 ![]()
Furthermore, the following has been changed:
If you display insert slots 9-16 and then switch to channel mode, for example, and press the 9-16 button, you now end up in the insert 1-8 view instead of 9-16 as before. This makes much more sense to me, because you usually want to return to insert 1-8 when you leave channel mode. Previously, there was no other way to get there, and you always had to press the 9-16 button twice.
Great!
What unfortunately hasn’t been changed yet: You can assign a different function to the BPM button using Shift, for example, clip gain. Unfortunately, CS12 still doesn’t remember this setting after a restart.
;-(
And the buttons below the potentiometers can unfortunately only represent two states at a time. I had hoped that this would change at some point, for example to switch the ratio on the compressor.
Do you have a 5V adapter plugged into the wall? This may solve your problems. HTH.
A new update is out.

I want to buy a CS12, but ControlCore working for vst instruments is really important to me. Any idea if this is still in the works and how far away this feature is from arriving?
It’s in the works AFAIK.
It was supposed to be released by the end of last year, if I’m not mistaken.
… however, their current focus seems to be to rather add more DAWs to the supported ones.
Yeah,@Northunder,seems so.
We still have to wait to see the development regarding VST integration.
Yes, I also wish for full instrument integration and the ability to assign more than just two functions (on/off) to the buttons. I’m referring to the buttons under the knobs. And I’d like the function assigned to the tempo knob to be permanently saved.
