finally installed C15 and ran the DAW bench ‘Mix’benchmark project.
I can get 7 more channel strip plugins loaded across the mix busses in C15.
These are heavy hitters so that’s a nice little performance boost here on the 9950x

Cool. I haven’t had a chance to do any performance comparisons yet. Thanks!
Hi Norbury,
I see the same on the Intel Ultra 9 285k.
My problem is not completely solved, but the situation has improved.
Still big loads on core 1 and 10, but this is also a Microsoft/Windows issue.
Fantastic, thank you for sharing. How many channel strip plugins did you manage to get running on C14?
I got 7, so one on every master bus. With C15 i got a whole extra row , so 14 in total.

No it isn’t !
Yeh, any improvement is a positive, but it shifts around a bit. I saw the same performance on some systems going from C14-15, smaller improvement on the 285K using the same MIX test, about 2-3 more FCS’s. On other more recent MIX session configuration C15 was a touch down.
We are still miles away from where it should be.
Hi Tafkat,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you explain why it isn’t?
Thanks in advance.
Where exactly do I find the DAWbench “mix” benchmark project? On the official site there’s only the VI and DSP benchmark…
Wow, that’s 100% more! So Kudos to Steinberg for this increase in processing efficiency.
Yes, I too would like to know that!
Wanted to skip the C15 upgrade vom C14 - but that makes me curious. I own a 9950X and I would like to get this boost, also.
Do you also recognize lower CPU utilization in your normal projects?
