C6.5 users...can u "replace files" in Soundcloud?

i prefer bandcamp you can replace your audio ok on there . soundcloud ends up looking a bit messy.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that Bandcamp’s audio is better than SC’s even though they’re both at 128kbps…they can’t explain why, they just say it sounds “better”. Not sure if they’re just fanboys or what but I think I’ll check it out anyways.

Oh I see. The advantage of a replace function though, is that all comments, favourites and stats etc are preserved, which I doubt is the case in your method.

Good point. That would be something to seek out in the API, if there is a true replace function that leaves stats intact. Or, haven’t tried it, if a delete and replace brimgs back anything.

OTOH, if you upload a new file for some reason (better mix?) you might want to start that over… dunno.

Looking at the API it appears you can GET & PUT comments… which means you can probably collect them before deleting a file and put them back after, and the other stuff appears to be basic properties that can be read and set. As coding goes, it doesn’t seem all that complex.
