I’ve just bought C6 and found out I can’t install to a powered hub so have no option but to install to my existing SX3 dongle. How do I go about it without screwing up the SX3 info on the dongle?
Is it just a straight forward install or do I need to do anything special?

The Cubase 6 license will allow you to run SX3 and all other previous versions of Cubase…
I’m surprised that you can’t authorize your Cubase 6 key from your powered hub. Do you not have a spare USB socket somewhere, just the time to perform the authorization (e.g. unplug your printer?).
Anyways, If your license is a full installation of Cubase 6 (rather than an upgrade), it won’t affect your SX3 license at all.
Note also, that your Cubase 6 license will be valid for SX3 also (so you don’t even need your SX3 key if both versions of Cubase are on the same machine).
