I would like to create a token for each text in the drum legend i created.
Can a new token be created or do we only have access to the default token list?

You cannot create new tokens.
What is best practice for a create the drum legend? I originally selected Drumset, and created the legend text in Write Mode. But selecting Full Score, the text is not positioned correctly. So i thought create the text in Engrave Mode. But, switching back to Write Mode, the text is not visible. I’m assuming that a token is needed for the text in Engrave Mode?
Still learning Dorico… hope what I’m asking makes sense
There is a percussion legend feature built into Dorico, are you aware of that already? This should show in any score and relevant parts.
You can also position text independently in score and parts by making sure that the properties scope is set to „local“ on the top right of the properties panel.
@VIPStephan i did read that in the documentation.
Not sure i like that as signpost. I would rather have the legend as a template at the beginning of the score. But i do see in drum books using this technique.
I will review again, maybe i am missing something since there’s alot offerings for the legend. Worth trying something different than the typical drum notation where the drum legend is always laid out in front of a score
Now that im thinking about this maybe the right approach having the drum legend on the staff for each page or flow. Then the reader does not gave to go back to the beginning of the score to refresh his/her memory …. Hmmm. Lots to learn using Dorico
Thank You
Excellent thank you
Not sure if the possibility of creating a token is disrupting but it would be helpful in my case too.
I need to specify the duration of each bloc, but my editor asks me a format which is not one of the 3 already implemented - I need “(xx mn yy s)”.
The only possibility that I see is to manually edit my bloc headers to insert this text, which creates a page exception at each bloc, locking lots potential future changes in the layout…
Another (still dirty) possibility is to insert some text in the page, so that I don’t create the exception, but the alignement/spacing would not be dynamically linked to the bloc title…
