The thing to realize is that the FFT for various sources will not respond that the slope the same. Just because there is nice steep slope picture on the plugin, that doesn’t necessarily mean there is a nice cutoff on the audio that matches.

Just to make sure it’s clear … the graphic you showed looks to me like a 36db oct filter. The one on the cubase strip looks like a 24db oct filter. So, if you need ultra steep like the slope you displayed, then you need something else. However, those really steep filters aren’t usually necessary … and of course that’s my opinion and YMMV.
