Can files from Cubase 10 open in Cubase 12

Hi

I have Cubase 10.5 Pro and want to upgrade to Cubase 12 Pro.
Is the files fully compatible? I mean will all the effects, VariAudio, GrooveAgent and everything work, or will there be things that will not sound the same, or have settings that doesn’t convert from 10.5 to 12?

Yes, Cuvase 10.5 files can be opened in Cubase 12.

I would recommend to download Cubase 12 Trial what is fully functional version for 30 days. Then you can try it with your own unique projects.

Btw also the preferences are found to be migrated from your Cubase 10.5 to Cubase 12.

The .cpr project files are not version dependent and can be freely opened back & forth between different versions of Cubase. Also you can leave 10.5 installed on your computer just in case - I have back to 7.5 on mine.
