I was looking at buying cubase 14 pro during the sale. I know someone with a 10.5 pro elicenser. i was thinking about buying it so i can then upgrade it to 14 pro. but i know that the elicenser service has been shut down now.
The steinberg website says that usb elicensers can still be sold but to do the upgrade from 10.5 to 14 it says it needs to be registered to mysteinberg. since they have registered it already does that complicate things or doesnt it matter? is it possible for them to deregister it and then allow me to register it and do the upgrade?
I believe, if you ask the Steinberg’s support, they will transfer the USB-eLicenser to your mySteinberg account (is they see a proof, you bought it). Especially if they would see, you bought an update already.
To be 100% sure, ask the support representative before you buy.
