You’ll need to have iLok2 for Slate products. I’ve seen many users reporting problems with iLok but that is not my experience, it’s been ok as far as I’m concerned.

Same here. I’ve had Melodyne for a number of years now and, save for a slight hiccup because the iLok website had (has still?) inconsistent links (see below), I’ve had no issues.
The inconsistent links issue had to deal with the fact that hyperlinks in two different places on the site supposedly led to the same set of drivers, but that wasn’t the case. And if you used the wrong link then iLok wouldn’t work properly. That was quickly diagnosed and fixed.
