I don’t know much about Wavelab, very new to it all, but I am venturing into self released tracks, mainly on YouTube, perhaps some through digital distributors.
I understand that Digital Distributors require to add all info (including) Tunecode in the Meta Data info (?), sorry to be questioning, I have never released anything by myself.
So the question is, can I insert the Tunecodes as generated by the Performance Rights Society (UK) of my tracks into the MetaData within Wavelab??
AFAIK, Tunecode is not an international standard, unlike ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) and ISRC (International Standard Recording Code). There is no specfic metadata filed to put some Tunecode information. However, in the WaveLab metadata, you could use another field to write that data. For example somewhere in the ID3v2 domain.
Or maybe the question is to ask is: where your client or digital distributor is expecting this info to be found?
I have yet to see a request for Tunecodes in my jurisdiction (not the UK). That said, I have just done an EP with a track that made the top 10 country main charts in the UK and Tunecodes was not requested.
DSPs typically require all information to be manually entered on upload … irrespective of what (if any) metadata is in the wav file.
