Hi everyone,
in my workflow i use project logical editor presets a lot and assign shortcuts to them. for example, I route selected tracks(regular/group tracks), to specific bus channels based on the track color for example.
the issue I face now is with the new group channel folder. Lets take this simple PLE preset that changes the output routing of the selected track or folder track, to a track called “Master”. i never had a problem doing this with normal tracks and normal group tracks, but when the new folder group track is selected, nothing happens at all ie the preset is unresponsive.
btw, even if i remove the container type condition and leave it more open, it will fail too. So, is custom ple routing not implemented yet for the new group channel folder? I feel like it should work, since PLE can already route regular tracks and group tracks, so I don’t really see why this new folder group track would be left out.
I believe not. Not yet. One of the reasons I haven’t adapted Folder-Groups into my setup.
However, you can develop a workaround using Name targeting by adding some sort of name target, even a symbol like #, at the start of the time to be able to target them with PLE.

Too bad it’s not supported yet. btw, I don’t think the color/name filter workaround works for this case. I tested it now with a symbol in the name, and it fails on the folder group track. I tested the same preset on regular track and regular group tracks at the same time, and it works there …
maybe try adding just ‘Track’ to that?
Like I said, i haven’t implemented… so maybe they haven’t implemented these into PLE at all yet.
I tested another media type filter there called “group” with that one it worked.
Edit: In the preset shown in the image below, it works only because the second filter is set to Or. But if I try to target only selected group folders by changing Or to And, it does not work( thats the sad part ), because targeting only the selected group folder is exactly useful.

as i was replying to you i found the group, and you gave the same answer too haha. yep, that worked under not ideal specific conditions.
You should still be able to add a name target ontop of what you’ve just found out I think, I’d be surprised if it didn’t.
If you do want to target specifically folder-groups only.
yep, it works if I set a filter based on name/color, as long as the media type filter is set to “Group” (which I just tested now). still kinda sucks that it won’t work when you only want to target selected group channel folder. that basically means i have to use a workaround like renaming or coloring those specific selected tracks anyway, which adds another layer of complexity for something that should already be there… So yeah that filter : property is set “Is selected” is where it fails. And so, this specific preset won’t work:
