What I want to see every time upon loading the Preset window is the location tree, filters and previewer without pressing the windows set up lay out button.
As it stands, every time loading a new VST, and a VST Preset I have to use the Set Up Windows Lay Out button to open Location Tree, Filters, and Previewer, then usually move the divider between Location Tree and Filters down.
Is there any preference or method to make what I want in the above permanent even when loading a new VST and a new preset?
I realize once you have opened the Load Preset window and made these changes with the Set Up Windows button, from then on whenever you open Cubase, the load Preset window will open they way I prefer.
However I think all this is lost if and when I have to trash my preferences? And I’m not even sure where this Preset Window information would be stored in order to bring it back if I did trash preferences?
Any work-arounds or ideas?
Sure, 1st World inconvenience. Just trying to streamline my workflow.
To me it looks like it works as expected. So once you change the setting, it becomes available. And once you trash the preferences and get the factory setting, it goes to the factory setting, which means, it’s hidden.
Yes, it’s working as intended. But that wasn’t my point.
I’m wondering if users like the way it opens as it works now? Or would users, including myself, like the way it initially opens with the location tree, filters, previewer all open at the same time? (2nd pic) Then if users don’t want to see everything open, they can use Windows Set Up and close whatever they don’t want to see.?
My assumption is that I think most users would prefer the default for everything open as shown in the 2nd pic. Maybe I’m wrong?
Opening a preset, and having the folders with all sub-folders immediately visible is how I personally like it. Many of my Plugs have multiple folders and sub-folders.
After trashing preferences, the whole cycle starts over again of opening a particular VST plug-in preset, making several mouse clicks, moving the divider…and that is only for 1 plug-in. Every new plug you open after trashing, you have to do the same thing.
It’s too bad there isn’t a user preference to make any plug-in preset open how it’s shown in the 2nd pic even the first time it’s opened to avoid mouse clicks for location tree, filter and previewer.
Well, based on just a couple days, there appears to be little interest for a survey. Maybe I’m just a unique user who does a lot of saving presets.
I was hoping, by changing the factory default to how a save preset plug initially opens like in the 2nd photo…that baking it in this way, would be an easy fix.
Adding a preference to determine which way it opens…probably not worth it.
