Can Midi Part Boundaries wait for Event Input while record

Been reading the manual but can’t find whether this is possible or not: When recording MIDI data (in real time) is there a way to have Cubase start the resulting MIDI Part’s beginning (in the Project Window) only when the first even occurs? As it stands, if I press record, a MIDI Part immediately appears at the “record on” time in the Project Window, whether I’m entering any CC data, note data, etc., or not. This requires going back and shortening the Part to more accurately reflect the space the data takes up.

It’s a really small thing because I know there’s punch-in recording. But it would be nice to record some notes and have the Part boundary automatically start at the note’s “on” time. Just wondering if there may be a setting somewhere to enable the above functionality.

Thanks,
Mahlon
