Actually - it seems to have worked…
Excellent
To be honest, you might still get crashes, but if you do, send me immediately a new diagnostics report thereafter. Okay?
Thanks - I will do. Lovely to be able to find a page with someone with really quick answers.
I did put in a support ticket but that’d take a couple of days to get back to me.
Thank you so much - appreciated!
Just sent you an email with the spin dump file. thanks!
Hey! I have the same problem on MacOS after the newest update. Please help
Welcome to the forum, @Addiko. Please do Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the resulting file here – or if Dorico won’t run all the way up, you should find that it has already created a diagnostic zip on your desktop, so you can attach that here.
I had the same problem earlier today on my laptop. I updated before I left my house, but then wasn’t on wifi the first time I tried to run it. Once I got to a place where I was on wifi it worked fine. Maybe the first time the updated version is run, it needs to ping home?
Can I send you by an e-mail?
@Addiko , yes, please send to d dot spreadbury at steinberg dot de and u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de
if it helps, I had the same problem when I first loaded DORICO. It couldn’t find the interface and closed the program. Very frustrating. I went and found another Steinberg product “Halion or Groove Agent” in my applications and opened it in standalone mode to show it the interface I wanted. Then I reopened Dorico and it did open.
Hi, I’m having this problem now, I’m a new Dorico user. Program cannot connect to audio engine, and quits. I have tried restarting. Can I send the diagnostic file to support?
Welcome to the forum, @helge1. I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems. Yes, please attach your diagnostic report here, together with a description of what you’re seeing when you start the software, and we’ll help you.
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (104.1 . KB)
What I see is an error message stating something like this: “can not connect to the audio engine. The program will now quit.”
Hi @helge1 , please delete /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components/HALion Sonic SE.vst3 and Dorico shall start again.
Dear Ulf,
thank you so much, now it works!
Hi Ulf - I am also having the same problem. I have a Intel Mac Mini with a Steinberg UR44 Audio Interface. I have removed the HALion Sonic SE from the /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components folder which allows me to start Dorio Pro but now I don’t have any sound when I play something. Does removing HALion Sonic SE impact that and does it need to be returned at some point?
Hi @Tim_Graham, welcome to the forum.
Please have a look at /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3/Steinberg
Is there a HALion Sonic.vst3 bundle in that directory?
If not, then please install it via the Steinberg Download Assistant. Choose the second item in the Dorico section.
If it is there, then please start Dorico, create a new project from solo piano template, enter a few notes and then do from the menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here.
Thanks
