hello guys,
I use track Archives a lot for saved presets. With normal audio tracks, i found that Cubase copies the audio into the archive folder, which is great tbh. But with sampler track, it still points to the original sample location instead of embedding/copying the sample into the archive preset. that is a problem because if the original file moves, changes, or gets deleted, the preset can break.
So, Is there any way to make sampler track save the sample inside the track archive file or location? So far, it always reference the original file when the archive is created. My only workaround for this is to use vst sampler that embed the sample into the preset itself, which is then stored in the archive when making a track archive. Is there a proper way to do this within sampler in Cubase?
Edit: another very important point I forgot to mention is that the problem is not only that the sample goes missing later. the bigger issue is that as soon as the preset cant find the sample, and you manually reload it from a new path, it forgets all the settings that were originally set, like start and end points, loop mode, and other edits. So even if you can relink the missing file, you are basically rebuilding the preset from scratch, which defeats the whole point of saving it as a preset in the first place, so I am not sure what the proper solution to this is.
