Can someone explain why the audio block turns black when selected?

When working in Nuendo 12, selected audio clips/markers would show a discrete red outline around them. After upgrading to Nuendo 14, the entire selected clip/marker now turns solid black, which I find visually distracting.

I want to revert to the previous highlighting style, but can’t locate the relevant setting in Preferences (Edit > Preferences > Editing > Tools). Has anyone else encountered this UI change? Any suggestions on restoring the classic selection indicator?

That’s one of the annoying changes introduced in Nuendo 14. The highlighting of selected events/parts is now the same as in Cubase. There’s no option to change it back to the previous behavior.

This makes me feel very upset. I don’t know why Steinberg wants to change the user’s operating logic. Is it good for them? ? ? ? ? ? ?

There is a long post about this issue:

I am really sad. Steinberg’s attitude towards consumers is very bad. Although I am not a senior Steinberg user, I have used it for a long time, almost 10 years. Now I really want to consider changing to reaper.

So do it

I’m already doing it
