Can Steinberg AXR4U and AXR4T run together on one computer

Hello, can Steinberg AXR4U and AXR4T run together on one computer(Mac Studio), I know we can set up as aggregate device, but will there be conflicting issues, with one being usb and the other thunderbolt ? Also will it actually show 2 separate control panels? Will the DSP suites work on both units ? I am trying to run this as a hybrid 24 mono input system, with a potential of further connections with AES and ADAT port, there are not many AD/DA that have 8 channel AES.

Yes, you can run both units on the same Mac Studio using an Aggregate Device.

USB and Thunderbolt together will not normally conflict, but clocking must be set correctly. Choose one unit as the master clock and sync the other via Word Clock or digital connection to avoid drift.

They will appear as separate devices in macOS. In Cubase you use the aggregate as the audio driver, but each AXR will still have its own control panel and DSPMixFx window.

The DSP suites run independently on each unit since processing is handled by the hardware itself.

For a 24 mono hybrid setup this is technically possible, just make sure clock sync and buffer settings are stable.
